Service portfolio: Heat transfer

Temperature distributions, heat flows, and thermally induced stresses play a central role in almost all technical systems. We analyze your thermal issues using numerical simulation – documented precisely, transparently, and in accordance with standards. This provides the foundation for functional design, material selection, cooling concepts, and thermomechanical safety.

Using FEM-based heat transfer simulation, we investigate steady-state and transient temperature fields, heat flows, and temperature gradients in components, assemblies, and complex systems. We consider conduction, convection, and radiation, as well as—where necessary—thermomechanical couplings or multiphysics effects such as fluid flow or electrical losses.

Services

  • Temperature distribution and heat flow analysis in the component or housing
  • Optimization of cooling or heating concepts (e.g. cooling fins, heat pipes, ventilation)
  • Evaluation of thermal contact resistances and insulation distances
  • Investigation of hotspots, thermal bridges and overheating risks
  • Thermally induced deformations and stresses (coupled analysis)
  • Analysis of transient heating during load cycles or switch-on operations
  • Consideration of materials, environmental conditions and operating profiles
